Back to the grindstone. I love long weekends, but they confuse my days. It's darker in the evenings now, but brighter in the mornings?!? Last week a beam of sunshine would stream onto my desk at about 4pm and today at the same time it was already dusk.
I read an interesting article today about a Slovakian nationalist priest in the 1930's. Apparently in 1938 the guy proclaimed himself as a "Slovak Hitler". This was around the same time that Hitler and the Third Riech were coming into prominence (I think, my history is so bad). Anyway, the current Slovak President is recognising this guy, now deceased, despite his obvious pro-hitler comments. It makes you think, how far has the world come since last century? There'll always be people like that I suppose...
Which leads me onto a another leader, Sarkozy. His environmental policies for France sound too good to be true. Let's see if the rest of the world will follow. His sociable skills could definitely do with a review given his recent interview with an American station. If you don't want to talk about something, just say so. There's no need to walk out like a petulant child.
I always forget how much I take technology for granted. Since my iPod was stolen, I've been using an old discman. A song will skip with even the smallest of movements. I find this particularly annoying because when I'm walking on my own, I tend to do so at a very fast pace. If I'm listening to fast music, I'll walk faster... It's harder when the song keeps skipping though.
My favourite songs at the moment are
this (Morrissey copycats but I like it!)
and
THIS!
